Step ashore with the Expedition team at remote Cambridge Bay -- the administrative hub for Canada's Nunavut territory. Your time in the community offers an excellent insight into how people survive and thrive in a remote and harsh landscape. Cambridge Bay is a tiny crossroads with four official languages and a surprising amount of history. This is where Amundsen's ship Maud sank; it was a site of a Cold War DEW Line in the 1950s; it boasts a 21st-century High Arctic research station; and it is home to 1,800 Inuit people who live and work in a polar environment that is also the domain of seals, caribou, and musk oxen.
Please note: Included Expeditions cannot be booked in advance. The ship's Expedition team will communicate finalized content and departure information. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
