Before the evening festivities begin, you will explore the charming railway village of Shifen, strolling along the vibrant Shifen Old Street — a lively strip lined with street food stalls, souvenir shops, and local vendors. Sample beloved Taiwanese street snacks, including peanut brittle ice cream rolls, grilled sausages, and sticky rice-stuffed chicken wings (at your own expense). Pick up handcrafted keepsakes and sky lantern-themed souvenirs to take home if you wish.
As night falls, gather alongside travelers from Taiwan and around the world to release glowing lanterns into the sky, each carrying wishes of hope and good fortune for the year ahead.
