Experience Ketchikan by land and sea on this "gateway getaway" exclusive to your private group of friends and family. It's designed to showcase the town that is often dubbed the Gateway to Alaska.
Transfer to a comfortable boat in Ketchikan's Bar Harbor, learning about the working history of Southeast Alaska's waterfront. From the water, you'll see Totem Bight State Park, with a close-up view of its legendary totems. This is how the Tlingit Natives would have made their approach to this waterside village.
Pause at historical Guard Island Lighthouse for an up-close view before cruising through Clover Pass.
Step ashore at Knudson Cove Marina, where a van waits to transfer you to the Tongass National Forest. Walk through the temperate rainforest with your naturalist guide to encounter Old Man's Beard — an endemic lichen that thrives only in the purest air.
Learn about the efforts required to sustain such an incredible environment with its amazing ecological diversity.
See salmon (seasonally) returning to spawn by the thousands in their natural habitat as the river flows through stands of Sitka spruce to create a fascinating symbiosis.
Make your way back to the van and hit the road back to downtown Ketchikan. Learn about the history of the pulp mill, commercial fishing, and any other subject that may pique your interest.
