Travel along Nova Scotia's scenic Lighthouse Route, where rugged coastlines, sheltered coves, and picturesque seaside communities showcase the enduring relationship between the Atlantic Ocean and life on Canada's East Coast. Your destination is Peggy's Cove, one of Nova Scotia's most iconic fishing villages, where colorful homes and fishing sheds perch atop weathered granite outcrops shaped by centuries of wind and sea.
At the heart of the village stands Peggy's Point Lighthouse, one of Canada's most photographed landmarks. In operation since 1915, the lighthouse overlooks the powerful Atlantic Ocean from a dramatic setting of ancient granite rock formations. Enjoy time to explore the village at your own pace, capture memorable photographs, and admire the striking coastal scenery that has inspired generations of artists. You'll also have the opportunity to view the renowned granite sculpture created by local artist William deGarthe, a tribute to the people, history, and maritime traditions of the region.
During your visit, enjoy the famous Gingerbread dessert at the cliffside Sou'Wester Restaurant (or similar), overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. There will be free time to browse local shops, stroll among the distinctive glacially sculpted rock formations, and soak in the atmosphere of this authentic coastal community. The tour concludes with a scenic drive along St. Margaret's Bay before a transfer to Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
Please Note
This tour is for disembarking guests with domestic flights after 4:00pm and international flights after 5:00pm.Transportation is by motorcoach. Guests should expect approximately 0.75 to 1 mile (1.2 to 1.6 km) of independent walking, primarily over uneven granite surfaces, paved pathways, and village walkways. The granite rocks around Peggy's Cove can be slippery, particularly when wet, and guests should exercise caution and remain within designated viewing areas. Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, including a windproof layer, are recommended, as conditions along the coast can be cool, windy, and change quickly. Free time is provided to explore the village, visit local shops, and enjoy the scenery at your leisure. This tour concludes with a drop-off at Halifax Stanfield International Airport rather than a return to the ship.
