Depart from the pier on a scenic ride to Europe's largest active volcano. While en route, enjoy the delightful countryside of vineyards and orchards, while passing the villages of Santa Venerina and Zafferana and the fertile fields on the side of the mountain. You will see the remnants of the last eruptions in October 2002. On arrival you proceed to the cable car station where the ride takes you from the altitude of 1,923m to the upper station at 2,500m. An experience that offers the unique opportunity to observe from above the mythical landscape of Etna with its many craters and volcanic cones, enjoying breathtaking views over more than 100 km of coastline. At the arrival station of the cable car, you can taste Sicilian specialties and look out onto the terrace amidst volcanic sands, admiring the summit craters on one side and the sea on the other.
On the way back proceed to Silvestri Spent Craters, almost 6,400 feet above sea level where you will be able to walk along the brim of these craters.
Enjoy lunch at La Cantoniera restaurant. Bruschetta with tomatoes, Maccheroncini alla Norma, Cake or Ice Cream, Coffee, Tea, Juice, Water (no alcohol).
Note: It is recommended to take a light jacket or a sweater for the trip to Mt. Etna and wear sturdy, comfortable closed walking shoes.
