Visit the famous Corinth Canal — a maritime shortcut that is four miles long, 70 feet wide, and has sloping sides 170 feet tall. It connects the Ionian and Aegean seas.
Board the Canal Vista boat for a ride through the canal and listen to the interesting narration on the history and infrastructure of the canal, which conceptually dates back to 600 BC but, in its modern form, is only 220 years old. Refreshments are served on board.
Nafplion is one of Greece's prettiest towns — the narrow streets of the Old Town are filled with elegant Venetian houses and gracious neo-classical mansions. The towering Palamidi Fortress dominates the entire setting. Your walking tour allows you to experience a day in the life of Náfplion and marvel at the beautiful buildings lining the port. Follow your guide to Kapodistriou Square and Park, dedicated to the first Governor of Greece.
Across the way, you can see the current Town Hall building, which began life as the very first high school in Greece.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Headsets missing after the tour incur a fee. Tour sequence may vary. Unexpected delays may occur due to canal traffic and weather conditions. T h trip through the Canal may be either one way or round trip; if round trip, you will return to the original starting point rather than transiting completely.
