Step into the ambience of old Portugal and the culture surrounding Port wine with this visit to an ancient cellar. Take a glass of Port wine to immediately connect with the traditions of the Douro region. Interpretive panels lining the room showcase its most significant and iconic aspects. Local handicrafts are also on display and are available for purchase.
The highlight of your visit will be the local folklore songs known as Fado — a UNESCO Intangible Heritage asset — performed by some of the city's greatest singers. Savor tapas showcasing codfish, sardines, chickpea salad, sausage, ham, cheese, bread and olives.
