Embark on a journey through the stunning landscapes of Seljalandsdalur and Tungudalur Valleys, where towering mountains and crystal-clear streams beckon adventurers to explore their breathtaking beauty. The mountains around Ísafjörður are uniquely shaped, demonstrating the raw power of the glacial movement that carved out the terrain.
A short drive brings you to the trailhead. Set out on a five-hour round-trip hike past lakes, ponds, and the luminous moss that is unique to the Westfjords. The hike is a gradual but steady ascent through the foothills to the base of Miðfell Mountain. Break here for refreshments.
On the descent, pass through the Tungudalur ski area and hear about winter sports in the Westfjords. From here, you'll drive back to the ship.
Please note: Minimum age is 12 years. Suitable only for those in good physical condition. An alternative route may be substituted depending on weather conditions and participants' fitness. Tour duration depends on the group's hiking speed. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wear sturdy hiking shoes. Bring walking sticks and a water bottle. Light refreshments are provided. Restrooms are not available on the hike. The tour operator reserves the right to deny participation to those wearing inappropriate shoes or clothing and those otherwise unprepared. A 100% cancellation fee applies 72 hours prior to the call at Reykjavik.
