This excursion highlights one of Kauai's most popular attractions, a cruise along the Wailua River and a visit to Fern Grotto.
The Wailua River is known not only for its tropical beauty, but also for its historical significance as the landing place of the first Polynesian migrants and the former home of Hawaii's royalty. Embarking a riverboat, you’ll enjoy a narrated cruise up the peaceful river.
Then, take a short walk along a paved path to view the Fern Grotto, which forms a natural amphitheater providing excellent acoustics for the small Hawaiian musicians group that will serenade you.
Cruise back downriver and re-board your coach.
Next, you’ll pass by Opaekaa Falls-a 151-foot waterfall-and Holo-Holo-Ku Heiau en route back to the ship.
Please note:
There is uneven terrain and gravel pathways at Fern Grotto, this tour is not meant for guests with mobility issues. Guests must be able to independently step in and off the boat. No wheelchairs can be stored on vessel. Fern Grotto is viewed from an observation deck. There is no entry into Fern Grotto. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, sunglasses, sun protectant and a hat.
