Step ashore in Gjoa Haven on King William Island in the Canadian province of Nunavut. Accompany the Expedition team on a guided walk to experience an Inuit cultural program and view the elusive, ephemeral Northwest Passage. With a population of around 1,300, this community has a surprising gift for creativity. Locally made handicrafts are for sale here — bone, hide, beads and fur are the staple components used by Netsilik Inuit artisans. Visit the Nattilik Heritage Museum to delve into local history and that of the European explorers and trappers who populated this region for many years.
Please note: Included Expeditions cannot be booked in advance. The ship's Expeditions team will communicate finalized content and departure information. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
