Hike around the unusual rockslide debris cones found in Kangikitsok, in a remote corner of Southern Greenland. These formations are called molards, and the Expedition team will identify these for you when you step ashore here. Remnants from the end of the last Ice Age, the molards are some 10,000 years old. Some scientists believe they indicate a degradation of the permafrost below — perhaps a reflection of Greenland's ever-changing climate. Whatever the implications, they are as profoundly fascinating as their surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful.
Please note: Included Expeditions cannot be booked in advance. The ship's Expedition team will communicate finalized content and departure information. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
