Head to Forillon National Park, nestled at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula, where time seems to stand still. Here, you'll encounter geological formations dating back a staggering 450 million years — majestic landscapes covering a 94-square-mile area (244 km2) in a tapestry of rugged cliffs, tranquil coves, sandy beaches, and towering mountains, all harmoniously sculpted by the elements. The presence of ten different rock formations, colonies of seabirds and enigmatic arctic-alpine plants lends the park a special character. As you explore, you'll encounter distinct landmarks, each telling a story of millennia-old transformations. Forillon is also a living museum of human history.
For a coastal adventure like no other, follow the 2½-mile (4 km) Du Banc Trail on foot, tracing the shoreline as it winds towards the majestic Forillon Cliffs and the iconic Cap-des-Rosiers lighthouse.
Pause to reflect at the Irish Memorial, a poignant reminder of the lives lost at sea in 1847.
