Explore the island of St Martin/St Maarten, ruled by two nations — the Dutch to the south and the French to the north.
Departing the charming town of Marigot, enjoy a drive through the picturesque countryside to the village of Grand Case, the gourmet capital of the Caribbean and home to some 40 restaurants. The beach here is gorgeous, as is the fine French cuisine.
From Hope Hill, you will take in the breathtaking view of Orient Beach. Drive through the French Quarter en route to the Rotary Lookout Point. Peer down over Oyster Bay for fascinating views of uninhabited Tintamarre and the trendy island of St Barth's.
You will stop in Philipsburg — the Dutch capital — for browsing and shopping.
Pass the salt ponds — once the main source of revenue for the island — and head to the top of Cole Bay Hill. Cole Bay Hill offers a wonderful view of the marinas and the neighboring islands of St Kitts, Nevis, Statia and Saba.
Please note: Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water.
