Head to the border between the small British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar and neighboring Spain to view the Spanish mainland beyond.
A panoramic drive takes you along the outskirts of the city of Gibraltar, passing the American War Memorial and the Trafalgar Cemetery en route to Europa Point. From this vantage point, admire views of the coast of North Africa, just 12 miles across the famous Strait of Gibraltar. Standing here at the southernmost point of Europe helps you to appreciate why Gibraltar was, and continues to be, of such strategic importance.
At the Chatham Counterguard, a member of the My Wines staff introduces you to the vaults, stonework and arched roofs of this very special venue. View the cannons atop the Bastion and some cannon balls retrieved from around the Moorish Castle. Enjoy a fresh white wine from Spain to start with, and a selection of delectable gourmet bites to accompany a tasting of some additional wines.
View a small selection of old photos and enjoy a discussion about some of the key sites on the Rock of Gibraltar. Browse in the Vault among a selection of world-class wines or simply enjoy an Italian coffee after the wine and food pairing.
You will then have free time to explore Main Street, with familiar names as well as smaller shops selling everything from fashion to designer sunglasses, Chinese linen and electrical equipment.
Return to the ship afterward. Time permitting, guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: Minimum age is 18 years. Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18 years, with a companion aged 21 years or older.
