Discover the heart of a leading Etruscan City on this tour to the Fiora river, crossing the Vulci Natural-Archaeological Park. The excavations of the Etruscan then Roman settlement are surrounded by natural wonders allowing visitors to explore the ancient city, its heritage and nature visible in the river’s canyon and in a flourishing garden.
Hiking in the fresh water of the Fiora River, we’ll discover spots unreachable to most. We’ll be enchanted by the history of the Abbey Castle, housing the archeological museums of Vulci, by the ancient Etruscan village turned into a Roman settlement after the defeat of the Etruscans and by the great importance that the Fiora River had for the local community through the centuries.
Along impressive gorge and tall basaltic walls, topped by candid white calcareous stones, we’ll reach the Pellicone Lake, in the wilderness of the archaeological park, across suggestive landscapes: a point of view that we may define more unique than rare. We’ll be literally “propelled” into such evocative environment that seems to be a Blockbuster movie stage!
