Exciting, exhilarating, memorable -- welcome to Expedition Experiences by Seabourn. Zodiac, kayaking or hiking activities enable you to experience the wonders of nature up close; in-depth cultural, ethnographic and archaeological discoveries connect you to the human and natural history of Seabourn's world. Each Expedition is expertly planned, professionally operated, and escorted by skilled expedition staff.
Torghatten -- a distinctive hole piercing right through a mountain -- is quite famous both in Norway and internationally. The Norse sagas say that it was the pierced by the Horseman's arrow; geologists believe it is the result of water and ice eroding soft rock, wearing away this geological curiosity while leaving the harder rock in place. What do you think? Join the Ventures team on a bus ride to the base of Torghatten. There are souvenir stands, a small café and restrooms at the trailhead. Set out on a hike to this memorable landmark of Bronnoysund. Up close, you will discover that the hole is 524 feet long, 114 feet tall, and almost 400 feet wide.
Please note: Wear sturdy walking shoes. It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion. Outer layer should be waterproof and windproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. Wear sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen. Bring binoculars. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking, as the walk is uphill, over unpaved, rough walking tracks with many steps and steep inclines. Bring a small backpack for your personal belongings. The hike is strenuous over uneven terrain and includes some steep inclines. Travel time by bus is approximately 30 minutes each way.
