Discover the Bronnoysund region's rich heritage, shaped by the sea and by fertile farmland, as you visit Nevernes Havn, located in the idyllic harbor overlooking Velfjorden. This lovely setting is the home of the Cultural Center, the keeper of a variety of artifacts that tell the long and fascinating story of life on Norwegian shores. Several buildings comprise this complex, including the Brattås House, which dates from around 1850. You can admire its extensive inventory of metal and wooden tools.
At the art gallery, peruse exhibitions of glass, ceramics, textiles and paintings, including a striking series of richly rendered paintings of Lomsdal-Visten National Park. From here, it's a short walk to Nevernes Gaard, a farm located next door. This converted barn houses a war museum which showcases exceptional memorabilia from World War II. Displays range from uniforms and personal effects to equipment and small firearms.
Following your visit, enjoy a panoramic drive back to the pier.
Please note: Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. Participants must negotiate stairs and/or uneven surfaces and is therefore not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
