Take a scenic coach ride through the beautiful Mecklenburg countryside to Schwerin -- the state capital, whose most famous landmark is the beautiful fairytale castle of the same name.
Wander through the magnificent interiors of Castle Schwerin with your inhouse guide and discover the impressive rooms of this beautiful example of neo-Renaissance architecture. Visit the magnificent throne room, library, and other impressive spaces. You will even learn about Petermännchen -- the castle's good-natured ghost. Step outside into the lush gardens, set right on the shore of Lake Schwerin and evoking a fairytale atmosphere.
Next, a short stroll takes you over the bridge where the Petermännchen wheeled trolley train awaits, hop aboard for a delightful tour through the medieval part of Schwerin. Pass Market Square, with its traditional half-timbered houses, the Town Hall and the magnificent Dome Cathedral.
