Travel south on the Stuart Highway and head into the Floodplains Region along the Arnhem Highway.
Your destination is the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. The Pandanus Lookout offers a great view across the eastern part of Fogg Dam. Enjoy a morning or afternoon snack here and take a short walk through the woodlands and monsoon forests that fringe the floodplains to spot wildlife.
Watch for wildlife on a drive along the dam wall and learn about this stunning region and its ecosystems, wildlife, seasons, and Aboriginal and European histories.
Then, take less-traveled roads through Darwin's rural area before returning to the pier.
