This tour is designed to cover the major highlights of Buenos Aires. From the port you'll begin by driving through the Palermo area with its beautiful parks, the City Zoo, Botanic Gardens, Argentine Horse Track and the National Polo Fields.
Next, you will pass through the Recoleta area -- one of the city's most glamorous spots -- and stop to visit the Recoleta Cemetery. The paths are lined with mausoleums and statues marking the generations of Argentine families that rest here in ornate splendor, including the grave of Eva Perón.
Pass along the magnificent 9th of July Avenue, reputedly the widest boulevard on earth, en route to the Plaza de Mayo, where you will stop for photos at the Colón Theatre, one of the world's best-known opera houses and the cultural pride of the locals. At Plaza de Mayo you will see the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo. The latter is Buenos Aires' first City Hall and was originally built during the Spanish era and reconstructed in 1940.
From here, a short drive brings you to the Café Tortoni -- one of the most traditional cafés in Buenos Aires -- where you will be invited to try a traditional porteño snack of ham and cheese sandwiches, croissants and coffee or a soft drink.
Then, continue to San Telmo -- the oldest district of Buenos Aires and stop at the famous Caminito Street in La Boca. From there, the coach will drive you back to the pier.
Please note:
Walking is required at Recoleta Cemetery and La Boca. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Expect traffic delays in the port area due to an ongoing construction project. Delays may extend tour duration by up to one hour. Your driver will do his/her best to minimize the inconvenience; your patience is appreciated.
