Travel just a short distance to the Marlston Hill Lookout, where you can climb the APEX tower. This tall lookout provides 360-degree views of the city and suburbs, as well as the port, harbor and Leschenault Inlet. The latter is a stretch of inland waterway.
You're headed out to the Ferguson Valley, where several boutique wineries and a micro-brewery have turned crafting beverages into an artform, and drinking them into a leisurely pastime.
You will stop at a valley brewery for some research into the craft beer industry -- sampling several local favorites will allow you to gather accurate data.
Your next destination is St Aidan Winery. This 24-acre, family-run boutique winery has a 'bud-to-bottle' focus on quality. Learn about the wine making process, including flowering, pruning, harvesting and bottling. Enjoy a wine tasting accompanied by cheese and crackers.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Minimum age is 18 years.
