Welcome to Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin! Our city tour will take you on a journey to some of the most iconic landmarks and attractions that make Cotonou unique.
We will begin at The Amazone square, named after the legendary female warriors of Dahomey. This square features a statue of an Amazone warrior, a fountain, and well-maintained gardens.
Next, we will head to Bio Guerra circle, one of the busiest intersections in Cotonou, named after a fighter for liberty and African dignity. Bio Guerra fought against the French colonial invasion. He was a resistance against deprivations of liberty, unfair taxes, conscription and forced labor.
Our next stop is The Remembrance square, a monument dedicated to the Beninese soldiers who died in World War II. This square features a large arch with inscriptions and a cenotaph.
Up to now this Remember Square is not open to visitors. Only open for National Independence festivities
We will then head to The Red Star square, a popular gathering spot for locals, named after the symbol of the Communist Party.
We will then explore the east and west ends of Cotonou, home to diverse neighborhoods.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll head to the Handicraft Market, a great place to shop for unique gifts and souvenirs.
Next drive to the ship in Cotonou driving along the Coastal Fishing Road, which offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
