Set your watch to island time and step ashore on Virgin Gorda, visited in 1493 by Christopher Columbus. This enticing half-day open-sided safari bus outing is all about Gorda's history, culture and astounding natural beauty.
A leisurely panoramic drive through Spanish Town is your guide's chance to tell you about this town, settled by miners from Cornwall, England. Time permitting, enjoy a few minutes for shopping or for marveling at the extravagant yachts in the picturesque marina.
Next, you'll follow the winding road to the summit of Gorda Peak, marveling at gorgeous Savannah Bay below with its shimmering stretch of white-sand beach. From the top, your guide points out the surrounding islands in Gorda Sound. Notice the varied flora and keep an eye out for the world's smallest lizard — the Virgin Gorda gecko.
On the return, your drive heads out along Millionaire's Road to the monument at Copper Mine Point. You'll spot the ruins of the mine — the original stack and engine house.
Pause at the Top of The Baths for fruit punch and another thrilling island view perspective.
Please note: Transportation is by open-sided safari bus. The route follows a steep and winding drive to Gorda Peak. Not advisable for guests with vertigo or a fear of heights. The route is winding. Guests prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. The Copper Mine ruins have limited access. Access to The Baths is not included in this tour.
