From the bustle of Georgetown's waterfront to the countryside of Penang, this tour will take you on a captivating journey through historic neighborhoods and lush jungle, past pristine beaches and cultural hotspots, with a demonstration of batik-making along the way.
A leisurely panoramic drive leads to the northern tip of Penang Island, past the picturesque beach resort of Batu Ferringhi. Known for its golden sandy shores and crystal-clear waters, it's the perfect place to snap pictures of the Andaman Sea.
Nearby, you'll visit the Penang Batik Factory workshop, where the intricate and timeless art of printing the cloth with wax and dyes is demonstrated.
Continue on for a coastal view en route to Entopic — the Penang Butterfly Farm. Here, immerse yourself in the enchanting world of butterflies, water dragons, giant scorpions, along with many other inhabitants of the greenery. Step into an aviary full of butterflies and feel them flutter around you — if you're lucky, some may even land on you. This is a truly special experience. The landscaped gardens also feature waterfalls, ponds, wooden bridges and a rock tunnel.
As you drive through the hills, scents of clove and nutmeg will follow you. Pause at a local fruit and spice stall for a firsthand look at the fresh species and local fruits. Purchase some for the road if you're so inspired.
Travel along to see tranquil Malay kampungs (villages) en route to the southern tip of the island. These offer a glimpse into the island's cultural heritage with their wooden houses, lush gardens, and tight-knit communities.
Along the coastal road, you will view the iconic Penang Bridge — the fifth-longest bridge in Southeast Asia.
