Take your experience to the next level with a guided walk and tea ceremony at Seonamsa Temple, a beautiful temple located at the east end of Jogyesan Mountain. This spiritual haven is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and this serene and culturally enriching experience brings together ancient rituals of tea preparation amidst peaceful surroundings.
The temple site is nestled within a lush forest of diverse trees that are hundreds of years old. In front of the temple is an arched stone bridge named Seungseongyo Bridge, which is supported by natural bedrocks. In front of the main hall, Daeungjeon Hall, are two three-story stone pagodas that grab visitors' attention.
Not only is Seonamsa Temple home to many of the country's pristine treasures and artifacts, it is also one of the few temples that preserve the traditional temple culture even as of today. Seonamsa Temple is beautiful throughout the year, but it is especially inviting in spring and fall when the flowers start to bloom and tree leaves change color.
After visiting the temple, experience tea ceremonies which are now being revived in Korea as a way to relax and find harmony in the fast-paced new Korean culture, and continuing in the long tradition of intangible Korean art.
Indulge in a traditional tea ceremony before returning to the pier – approximately a 1 hour drive back to the ship.
Please note: This tour requires an extensive amount of walking (approximately 1.2 miles [2 km]), some of which may be over uneven surfaces and a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Approximately one hour of uphill walking is required to reach the temple. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilize a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. The tour sequence may vary.
