Learn to cook—southern Italy-style! Transfer to Sorrento and the Villa Ida, where your cooking lesson will take place in a private garden villa owned by a native Sorrentine family. The garden is scented by lemon and orange trees, and graced with a swimming pool, a typical pergolato and ceramic decorations. Move into the kitchen area and immerse yourself in the unique experience of cooking delicious Italian food with an Italian. You’ll learn that in Italy, cooking isn’t about just recipes and sustenance; it’s a labor of love—a fabulous fusion of flavor, tradition and practicality. Your class is based on a menu of traditional Italian fare, with particular emphasis on Neapolitan recipes. All the recipes will be clearly demonstrated in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Your three-hour class will be broken up with a visit to the wine cellar and tasting of homemade wine. When the work is done, relax by the pool or in the shade of the pergolato and devour with gusto the beautiful meal you have created. Then you’ll return to Sorrento and stop at a woodcraft center. At this point you can choose to board your minibus for the return directly to the pier or you may choose to remain in town for independent exploration.
Please note: Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore on their own are welcome to do so, but must return to the ship on their own. Minimum age is 13 years.
