Leave Streymoy Island via the relatively new underwater tunnel and, five minutes later, you'll arrive on Vágar Island. You will appreciate Vágar's ever-changing scenery and will have time to explore its villages. Your guide will tell you about the island, its history and about life here today.
Drive to the village of Sandavágur and visit the local church. You'll pass the largest lake in the Faroe Islands before reaching Bøur. Stretch your legs in this little village with both old and new houses with turf roofs and a charming tar-blackened church. At a local warehouse venue (or similar), enjoy tea or coffee and a delightful piece of homemade cake. From here, take in the spectacular view of Tindholmur and the Mykines Islands beyond.
You'll leave Bøur via the tunnel to Gasadalur, Vagar's westernmost village and pause at the Mulafossur Waterfall.
Finally, return via the mountain road to capture the extraordinary panoramic views out over the fjord and the capital, Tórshavn.
Please note: Tour consists mainly of sightseeing from the transportation. Participants must be able to board the coach, unassisted, by way of steps. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, grass, and steps. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
