Join us for an intimate small group guided 14 passenger van tour as we explore the vibrant city of Portland. Our adventure begins with a scenic drive through the charming Old Port district, where you’ll be captivated by its quaint cobblestone streets and colorful 19th-century buildings. As we meander along the scenic Eastern Promenade, take in the stunning views of the working waterfront with lobster boats and colorful buoys and the picturesque Calendar Islands. The beauty of Portland’s Victorian architecture, with its stunning residential neighborhoods and magnificent mansions, once homes to wealthy sea merchants, provides a glimpse into the city's rich history.
As we continue our tour, we’ll venture over Portland’s harbor to visit the iconic Portland Head Light, commissioned by President George Washington in 1791, known as the most photographed lighthouse in the United States. Here, you'll have a 30-minute stop to capture unforgettable photos and savor the breathtaking coastal views. During this stop, your tour guide will provide a Taste of Maine picnic sampler featuring a tasting of foods with Maine blueberries, maple syrup, and the famous Whoopie Pie.
Next, we will head back toward the heart of Portland, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience not one, but two more stunning lighthouses: Spring Point and Bug Light. Each offers unique perspectives of Portland's maritime heritage and natural beauty.
Our journey will also take us past Fort Preble, one of the oldest forts in Casco Bay.
Finally, we’ll bring the tour to a close at a breathtaking viewpoint that boasts the BEST panoramic vistas of Portland. Visit Bug Light and a memorial dedicated to the Liberty Ships that were built during World War II. Here, you can reflect on the day’s adventures while taking in the stunning skyline and coastal scenery. This historic site provides a fascinating insight into Portland pivotal role during the war. Join us for an unforgettable day filled with history, natural beauty, and the warm essence of Portland!
