Depart the pier for a scenic drive to Caernarfon, leaving the stunning island of Anglesey, crossing the Menai Strait. Caernarfon is home to one of the magnificent Castles built by Edward 1. Building work commenced in 1283. It was here that the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles was crowned in 1969. Pause for a photo stop to view the exterior of the castle.
Next your drive continues inland towards the stunning Snowdonia National Park the first to be designated in Wales in 1951, covering 823 square miles. Large areas of the park have been designated as a site of Special Scientific Interest. Enjoy a brief photo stop at Llanberis which lies next to Llyn Padarn a glacially formed lake. Then view the famous Welsh slate as you pass Dinorwig Slate Quarry, once Wales second largest slate quarry.
Your journey continues deeper into the National Park, and you will travel up the Llanberis Pass that skirts the base of Y Wyddfa (Snowdon) the highest mountain in Wales. This is a land steeped in rich history, myths and legend.
Complete your tour with a stop at Betws-y-Coed, a small popular village with locals and visitors boasting bespoke and individual shops.
