Your tour begins as you board your motorcoach for a panoramic drive to Amsterdam. En route, you'll pass through lowland countryside dotted with farms, canals and windmills. Photo opportunities present themselves at every turn.
With more than 60 miles of waterways, Amsterdam boasts more canals than Venice. These are a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll take a canal boat ride aboard a glass-domed motor launch. Watch for the fine old houses built by the city's enterprising merchants, as well as picturesque houseboats lining the canals.
Enjoy some free time to browse and shop in the city center of Amsterdam and have lunch on your own.
Step inside the Rijksmuseum for a self-guided visit. Admire the masterpieces of Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh. The museum displays around 6,000 paintings, including Rembrandt's masterpiece, The Night Watch. Gain insight into the historical context and artistic brilliance behind this iconic painting, and appreciate the intricate details that have captivated audiences for generations.
At the designated time and place, meet your guide for the walk back to your motorcoach and the drive back to the pier in Rotterdam.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, and steps.
