It's a half-hour motorcoach drive from Zeebrugge to the romantic city of Bruges. There, you will set out on a guided walking tour through the heart of the city.
Once you enter the Old Town of Bruges, you can feel the historic atmosphere. Strolling along the cobblestone streets, you'll pass the Dijver. Continue through this picturesque city to view the Town Hall, the Chapel of the Holy Blood, the marketplace with its guild houses, and the Belfry Tower and the Beguinage (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). These white houses were once the home of the beguines — emancipated laywomen who led a pious and celibate life. It was founded in 1245 and is now home to the nuns of the Order of St Benedict.
Your guide will lead you to the pier, where you will board a canal boat for a pleasant 30-minute canal cruise. Take full advantage of this chance to relax and simply take in the true beauty of medieval Bruges.
Back on dry land, you'll have approximately 1.5 hours of free time to continue exploring Bruges on your own, to purchase lunch (at your own expense) or for shopping in this town that is best known for superlative lace-making and hand-crafted chocolates.
Then, reboard the motorcoach and transfer back to Zeebrugge.
Please note: Lunch is not included. You will have time to purchase lunch at your own expense during the tour. Terrain includes up to 10 steps to board the canal boat, cobblestones, and even and uneven surfaces. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring sunscreen. Tour does not operate on holidays. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
