Day 1 (L/D) Tangier - Rabat
A panoramic drive brings you to Rabat -- capital of Morocco. It is a modern city with wide boulevards, gardens, and white buildings, and yet remains steeped in history, with its origins dating back to the 7th century. Enchanting Rabat is home to many historical monuments and has some superbly preserved relics that speak to its Moorish past.
Marvel from the outside at the Royal Palace's Islamic architecture and impressive arches and visit the Merinides' 14th-century Chellah Necropolis.
At the Mohamed V Mausoleum, a magnificent white-marble pavilion houses an exquisitely crafted burial chamber. The nearby Hassan Tower is 140 feet tall and was intended to be a minaret tower to the largest mosque in the Muslim world, but the mosque was never built.
Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch.
Pass through the Kasbah des Oudayas and meander down the hillside to the colorful Andalusian Gardens for tea overlooking the river and city of Sale.
Overnight at Hotel Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses (or similar)
Day 2 (B/L/D) Rabat - Marrakech
Transfer to Marrakech. More than just a city, Marrakech is an homage to Morocco's version of European colonialism, the age-old tradition of Berber trade, and the pleasantly chaotic market traditions of the Islamic world. It is the third-largest city in Morocco, nestled in the foothills of the snowcapped Atlas Mountains.
Watch for the Koutoubia Minaret -- a 12th-century Moorish monument.
You'll visit the 19th-century Bahia Palace -- a remarkable example of Eastern architecture that offers an insider's view of the life of the privileged in this Imperial City. The use of marble, stucco and mosaics predominates in the apartments that open onto courtyards filled with fountains and plant life.
In the labyrinth of souks (markets) that is the Old Town, lose yourself in the colorful alleys and small squares that are jammed with a bewildering array of stalls and ateliers devoted to specific crafts.
You'll end up at the Djemâa el Fna Square, where street artists, snake-charmers and musicians perform at every turn. Enjoy Moroccan tea here.
Overnight at Hotel & Ryads Barriere Le Naoura (or similar)
Day 3 (B/L) Marrakech - Casablanca
Head to the Majorelle Gardens for a short walk through a collection of plants from the four corners of the earth. This beautiful flora flourishes among elegant ornamental lakes surrounding the Art Deco villa that was home to designer Yves Saint Laurent.
You'll also visit the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, boasting more than 5,000 stunning YSL dresses and 15,000 gorgeous accessories fit for, well, a Paris fashion house. The museum's architecture was inspired by contemporary and Moroccan architecture, with blues and greens on one side of the entrance hall and reds and tangerines on the other.
Visit the Dar El Bacha Museum, located in the heart of Marrakech's medina (Old Town). Built in 1912, it was the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech.
Lunch is served at a beautiful property in the heart of the Medina.
A late afternoon drive returns you to the ship in Casablanca.
