Exciting, exhilarating, memorable, Ventures by Seabourn are designed around Zodiac, kayaking or hiking activities. Experience the wonders of nature up close, or in-depth cultural, ethnographic and archaeological discoveries that connect you to the human and natural history of Seabourn's world. Each Venture is expertly planned, professionally operated, and escorted by knowledgeable Ventures staff or a skilled contractor.
Set out with the Ventures team to explore British Columbia's Cormorant Channel Marine Park by Zodiac. Leaving Alert Bay, you'll enter the strong tidal currents at the junction of Johnstone and Queen Charlotte Straits. In the channels between the Pearse Islands, keep an eye out for abundant birdlife, seals and other marine mammals.
A qualified driver/naturalist pilots each Zodiac, offering excellent insights and interpretive information. Of particular interest are the wildlife-rich local tidal channels and eddies, often
frequented by a resident population of orca (killer) whales cruising in search of a tasty salmon snack.
Please note: Tour departs from and returns to the ship. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring binoculars. Wear sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen; bring insect repellent. There are steps to negotiate when (dis)embarking the Zodiac, with assistance offered. Tour generally operates rain or shine but may be cancelled in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Minimum age is 6 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
