Exciting, exhilarating, memorable -- Ventures by Seabourn is a series of Zodiac, kayak and hiking activities enabling you to experience the wonders of nature up close. Each Venture is expertly planned, professionally operated, and escorted by skilled, knowledgeable guides.
Explore the remote Chiswell Islands by Zodiac, a spectacular wildlife sanctuary within the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. Towering cliffs, sea stacks, arches, and sea caves create a dramatic landscape shaped by glaciers, tectonic forces, and the North Pacific.
During summer, the islands host large colonies of nesting seabirds, including horned and tufted puffins, kittiwakes, and auklets. The area is also home to one of Alaska’s largest Steller sea lion rookeries, where these remarkable marine mammals can often be observed along the shoreline.
Wildlife sightings may also include humpback whales, orcas, and Dall’s porpoises in the nutrient-rich surrounding waters. Guided by Seabourn’s expert Expedition Team, this Zodiac adventure offers an intimate look at one of Alaska’s most pristine and wildlife-rich coastal environments
Please note: Tour departs from and returns to the ship. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring binoculars. Wear sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen; bring insect repellent. There are steps to negotiate when (dis)embarking the Zodiac, with assistance offered. Tour generally operates rain or shine, but may be canceled in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Minimum age is 6 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
