Exciting, exhilarating, memorable -- welcome to Expedition Experiences by Seabourn. Zodiac, kayaking or hiking activities enable you to experience the wonders of nature up close; in-depth cultural, ethnographic and archaeological discoveries connect you to the human and natural history of Seabourn's world. Each Expedition is expertly planned, professionally operated, and escorted by skilled expedition staff.
Paddle a kayak in the company of a Seabourn Ventures naturalist guide. The face of North America's largest and most spectacular tidewater glacier -- Hubbard Glacier -- is your destination. Its towering icy cliffs reach upwards of 400 feet (121 m) and calve icebergs that fill Disenchantment Bay with pretty, iridescent morsels. The nutrient-rich waters in front of the glacier attract many species of marine life -- a summer wildlife buffet of plankton, krill and other tasty treats for seals and otters.
Please note: A zodiac follows the kayaks for safety and to lend assistance as required. All sea kayaks are doubles. Temperatures and weather conditions can vary; dress warmly in layers. A waterproof Gore-Tex outer layer is provided in the form of a dry suit. Pogie gloves are provided, along with booties and dry bags. Bring a hat or beanie, camera and binoculars. Wear sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen. No prior kayaking experience is required; your guide provides a briefing and instructions before the tour departs. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Minimum age is 10 years old. Minimum height is 5 feet (1.5 m). Maximum weight per kayak (2 persons) is 617lbs or 280kg. Please remove all rings, watches, bracelets and earrings and leave them in a secure place on the ship.
