Sample the best food that Alaska has to offer as an experienced chef demonstrates how to make delicious regional dishes — great fun for anyone who wants to learn more about the culinary habits of Alaskans.
This enjoyable tasting session is hosted by a friendly local chef who specializes in the preparation of seafood and other local delicacies. (S)he will take you through the entire cooking process as you gather around a large grill, absorbing many secrets of the trade. Watch and learn as the catch-of-the-day is filleted before preparing your own seafood treat with a hands-on class under the tutelage of your culinary host.
Please note: Minimum age is 8 years. This tour is designed to be accessible for all guests, including those using a wheelchair (the tour operator suggests bringing a companion to assist if needed, as guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs). Only non-ambulatory guests using a wheelchair that requires specific accommodations, such as a lift/ramp and wheelchair anchor on the transportation, can book this tour, as it ensures accessible transportation; guests using a collapsible wheelchair and able to board the coach via the steps must book Cooking in Alaska's Wildest Kitchen (Companion). Companions can book the same tour under the title Cooking in Alaska's Wildest Kitchen (Companion). The tour route avoids stairs; however, the nature of access may differ from the standards you are familiar with at home. Accessible bathrooms with wide doors are available along the tour route. An accessible vehicle with a wheelchair lift or ramp is used for transportation. The number of accessible vehicles available is extremely limited; make your accessible shore excursion reservations as far in advance as possible. Guests requiring accessible transportation, please complete the Special Services form at https://www.seabourn.com/en/us/about/accessibility; this will ensure that suitable transportation is in place for your tour.
