Explore one of Sitka's most breathtaking and secluded wilderness adventures on this remote Alaskan hike. Far from town and accessible only by vehicle, a backcountry trail leads you deep into the Tongass National Forest and around the stunning Beaver Lake area — one of Sitka's most beautiful landscapes. Your companions are towering mountains, crystal-clear lakes, glacier-fed streams, natural rock formations, and panoramic valley views.
Pick berries at the guidance of your professional naturalist guide, surrounded by wildlife-rich waters and dramatic mountain scenery. Enjoy an immersive experience in the quiet solitude of the true Alaskan wilderness. Learn about the ecology, geology, and natural history of this remote region while your guide shares stories of Sitka's environment, culture, and wildlife.

Please note: This is a strenuous hike. Tour requires approximately 2 hours of walking, covering approximately 2.8 miles (4.5 km) with a total elevation gain of 500 feet (152.4 m).Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, gravel, grass, roots, rocks, planks, bridges, nets and many steps. The beginning of the hike features the steepest inclines with switchbacks. Minimum age is 5 years. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring a backpack to hold any layers you shed. Bring rain protection for your camera or device. Wear hiking boots. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extreme weather or unsuitable conditions.
