Experience the beauty and wonder of the myriad of local marine wildlife that thrives in the rich waters surrounding Wrangell from the comfort of a high-speed catamaran. From the multiple viewing decks, keep an eye out for blacktail deer, bears, or bald eagles along the shoreline as your local captain shares Wrangell history, and interpretation of flora and fauna. The captain will navigate to best areas with the highest opportunity for marine wildlife. You will have a chance to see sea otters, sea lions, humpback whales or orca "killer" whales!
Enjoy a snack and a hot cup of coffee when you come inside and warm up from the viewing decks. Depending on the time of year, watch real Alaskan fishing boats haul their catch from the sea.
All too soon, it is time to return to the ship in Wrangell.
Please note: The location and expected wildlife to view will be seasonally dependent. The tour route and sights may change due weather, natura and water conditions. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. At low tide, ramp to the catamaran may be steep.
