This scenic voyage provides a fantastic perspective of British Columbia, melding captivating beauty with sightings of the area's bald eagles, marine life, and storied beacons that have guided ships through these coastal waters for generations.
Board a beautiful, heated 72-foot catamaran offering maximum comfort, covered cabins, and four outdoor viewing decks -- the perfect platform for the adventure that lies ahead. In May, June and July, American bald eagles roam the skies of Prince Rupert by the hundreds, always in search of their next meal. Try to spot them along the way -- the odds of seeing them are quite high.
As you cruise the Pacific coastline, you are immersed in some of the most beautiful scenery in British Columbia. Keep your eyes and ears open, as this area is also known for its abundance of marine wildlife, including humpback whales on the prowl for krill and orcas following schools of salmon. The complexities of the food chain often play out in front of human onlookers.
Watch for local lighthouses, too, and learn about the lighthouse keepers and the history of these beacons -- both harrowing and fascinating.
Return to the Atlin Dock, adjacent to the cruise ship pier in Prince Rupert.
Please note: Motorized or electric wheelchairs cannot access the boat. There is limited storage capacity for wheelchairs. Participants must be able to board the boat with limited assistance. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Tour requires approximately five minutes of walking between the cruise ship pier and Atlin Dock. It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion; outer layer should be waterproof and windproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Snacks and beverages, including beer and wine, are available at the kiosk on board the vessel (at your own expense). Guests prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
