Nanortalik town will be open and ready for your visit! Explore town with cultural events around such as the Greenlandic Choir. Choirs and hymns have become an important element in Greenland’s national culture. Many towns have at least one performing choir and Nanortalik is not an exception. The choir will be performing in the charismatic church near the old town two times during your visit. You may also wish to view the kayak show. Qajaq (Kayak) is one of the strongest cultural symbols of the adaptability to the land that distinguishes the people of Greenland. . In the old harbor of Nanortalik our local Qajaq master will show why the locals in Greenland have survived living off the ocean for so long? There is also an opportunity to experience the Drum Dance. Musicians from Greenland originally played on a drum. This simple instrument was used for a variety of purposes including entertainment, exorcism and witchcraft. Enjoy this old tradition as performed by a local drum dancer. Also, The local museum will be open with free entrance.
