Depart the pier by air-conditioned coach for the 2.5-hour drive to Bangkok.
Upon arrival in the late afternoon, proceed to Wat Saket -- one of Bangkok's oldest temples. Wat Saket is best known for its manmade hill. Indeed, the Golden Mount was once the highest point in Bangkok. Three hundred wide, paved steps make the ascent less strenuous. Along the walk are a series of bells that are traditionally rung for good luck and seats for those needing to catch their breath. Atop the hill, take in spectacular panoramic sunset views over Bangkok.
Following your visit, board a tuk-tuk -- an open-air, motorized tricycle -- for a ride around Bangkok's Old City.
A two-hour cruise on a chartered Rice Barge allows you to savor the cool evening breeze. A Thai dinner is served as you float along the Chao Phraya River. See Bangkok's famous landmarks on the riverbanks in the soft evening light.
Reboarding the coach, you'll return to Laem Chabang.
