This tour offers a great insight into the daily activities of Balinese people. Start with a visit to a colorful traditional market in Tulikup, with its colorful wares featuring everything from food, spices, flowers and offerings.
You'll visit an elementary school, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with students in their classroom.
Continue driving through rural villages to a local Balinese home, where a traditional snack will be served with Balinese coffee or tea while the children from the village perform a traditional dance. Take a walk through the house compound and learn about the unique architecture of the Balinese home, and continue the experience by visiting Balinese farmers working in their fields. Learn about the simple and traditional irrigation system called subak, as well as the process of rice growing, from planting the seedlings to harvesting and even cooking the rice.
Enjoy a taste of fresh coconut water -- one of nature's greatest beverages, which is becoming increasingly popular all around the world -- and enjoy a Balinese lunch.
Next, you'll visit Pura Kehen Temple, built in the 13th century. After stepping through the Kori Agung (stone-capped gateway), you'll enter the small compound guarded by a mythical Naga (dragon). The magic stone inside it is said to have glowed red when the site of the temple was decided.
