Mansuar Island has a thriving reef system and a dense tropical jungle which supports a variety of wildlife. One of the most sought-after land birds here is the Red Bird of Paradise (Cendrawasih merah). Although difficult to find, they are an impressively-colored bird which lives off fruit found in the forest canopy. There are also fruit-doves, dollarbirds, flycatchers, and kingfishers to be found—amongst many other unique and endemic species.
Mansuar Island is also another fantastic place for snorkeling and diving and is often mentioned as a good place to see manta and eagle rays. Again, as with much of Raja Ampat, the reef system here is healthy, colorful, and diverse, offering tremendous opportunities for exploration and discovery.
