Welcome to Amami Island, known for its pristine beaches and lush subtropical forests. Today, on a hike, you will be immersed in this beautiful landscape.
Your first destination is Ohama Seaside Park, where you'll take photos. This spot claims one of the best beaches in Japan -- a stunning haven where you can stroll along the white sand and enjoy the ambience of this picturesque park.
The Kinsakubaru Virgin Forest is a National Park known for its pristine ecosystem and subtropical broadleaf trees. Due to the fragility of the landscape and the presence of flora and fauna found only on Amami Island, your hike is accompanied by a local specialist guide who points out many types of rare hardwoods. Hopefully, you'll catch a glimpse of some resident wildlife. Journey deep into the forest along trails dappled by sunlight shining through the canopy, creating a mystical atmosphere.
Please note:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking, as the walk is uphill, over unpaved, rough walking tracks. Wear long pants and long sleeves, and bring rain gear. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Tour operates weather permitting. Kinsakubaru Virgin Forest is not accessible without a local guide. Travel time is 30-40 minutes each way. There is no restroom available on tour.
