Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century.
Day 1 (D)
Leave the port of Saigon and transfer to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Have a late lunch and check into your hotel in Siemreap.
In the afternoon. you can enjoy the hotel pool, spa of the hotel or join the tuk tuk ride to explore the town and its market.
Dinner will be served at a deluxe local restaurant in Siem Reap tonight
Day 2 (B/L/D)
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the magnificent temple at Angkor Wat -- a unique and stunning blend of spirituality and symmetry, and an enduring example of man's devotion to his gods. It is the largest and undoubtedly the most breathtaking of the monuments of Angkor, and is reputedly the largest religious structure in the world.
Drive to Banteay Srei to visit the Citadel of Women. This petite temple possesses some of the most intricate carvings in the Angkor area. Although it is small, the details and quality of its architecture make it a must-see attraction.
Lunch is served at the Tara Angkor Hotel for lunch including, soft drinks, local beer or mineral water.
This afternoon you will visit the Angkor Thom complex to see the Terrace of Elephants, the Leper King and the Bayon Temple, whose giant stone faces have become one of the most recognizable images connected to classic Khmer art and architecture.
Continue to the Ta Phrom Temple, famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorers arrived. It is also the location of many scenes filmed for the blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider. Drive back to the hotel and freshen up before dinner with a show at the poolside.
Day 3 (B/L)
Enjoy breakfast and check out of the hotel.
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Sihanoukville. Upon arrival, transfer to the port via a panoramic drive through the beach roads of Sihanoukville and re-board the ship.
Please note: There is considerable walking required on uneven ground. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Shade is limited; please dress accordingly. Bring a hat; wear sunscreen and insect repellent. Modest attire is required; knees, shoulders and midriffs must be covered (women) and shoes must be removed to enter temple(s). Shorts and/or tight clothing are not allowed. Long pants or a long skirt and a shirt are required -- a wrap is not sufficient. Bring along a pair of thick socks to protect your feet from the hot pavement.
Due to this tour's popularity, exclusivity, and strict booking conditions, tour bookings must be confirmed 60 days prior to the actual call to Ho Chi Minh with no cancellations allowed thereafter.
The arrangements and costs for obtaining a visa for Vietnam & Cambodia are included. Please bring with you four passport size photos. Passport should also have two blank pages for visa stamps.
