Named in honor of the former king, Norodom Sihanouk, Sihanoukville was carved out of the jungle in the late 1950s to create Cambodia's first and only deep-water port. Besides being the country's primary port, Sihanoukville is also a popular seaside resort with beautiful tropical beaches, famous for their white sand and unspoiled landscapes.
Your half-day tour starts with a panoramic drive along the coastal streets and beaches of Sihanoukville. Take photos from the coach of Golden Lion Square and the Statue of Love.
A visit to Wat Batrang showcases a temple surrounded by numerous stupas with significant Khmer influence.
Stop for photos at the city's War Memorial and stroll through a local market with its colorful displays of fish, poultry, palm sugar, tropical fruits, flowers, fabrics and crafts.
Don't miss the pastel-colored Wat Leu temple, known for its elaborate paintings depicting the life of Buddha. Here, young monks dressed in red robes will eagerly practice their English with you, answering your questions.
End your outing with refreshments at Sihanoukville Beach before the drive back to the pier.
Please note:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. The photo opportunity at Golden Lion Square is from the coach only.
