Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century.
Day 1 (L/D)
Leave the ship and transfer to Wat Lue - a renowned hilltop Buddhist temple, before the drive to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap. Meet on the arrival in Siem Reap airport and transfer to check in at the Sokha Hotel (or similar) and lunch will be served at hotel's restaurant. In the evening, leave the hotel for your Khmer foods dinner at Madame Butterfly restaurant. After dinner transfer back to your hotel for the evening.
Day 2 (B/L/D)
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll drive to Banteay Srei to visit the Citadel of Women. This petite temple possesses some of the most intricate carvings in the Angkor area. Although it is small, the details and quality of its architecture make it a must-see attraction. Your next visit is Ta Phrom Temple, famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorers arrived. It is also the location of many scenes filmed for the blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider. After visiting Ta Phrom, continue to the Angkor Thom complex to see the Terrace of Elephants, the Leper King and the Bayon. Explore the Bayon Temple whose giant stone faces have become one of the most recognizable images connected to classic Khmer art and architecture. After lunch, you willvisit the magnificent temple at Angkor Wat, a unique and stunning blend of spirituality and symmetry, and an enduring example of man's devotion to his gods. It is the largest and undoubtedly the most breathtaking of the monuments of Angkor and it is reputedly the largest religious structure in the world. Next you will drive back to town for some time to explore the Central Market or shop for a simple memento of your stay in Cambodia. Back to the hotel there will be time to freshen up before dinner and a traditional Apsara dance show.
Day 3 (B)
Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel; then check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, where you will re-board the ship.
