Upon disembarkation at Bastiong harbour, you will be welcomed by a ritual ceremony of JOKO KAHA, The ritual illustrates recognition of the greatness of the Sultan of Ternate. This colourful display is a wonderful start to a fascinating day in Ternate. Board to local non air-conditioned bus and head to Sultan Palace. Here you can enjoy Cultural Performance while seeing what the Palace can offer. From here your tour will continue to the World’s Oldest Clove plantation. The drive will take you along a scenic but narrow road to Marikurubu village on the slopes of mount Gamalama. Here you will need to walk about 400 m over uneven paths to reach the 350 year old clove and nutmeg plantations. Upon reaching the site, you can enjoy with the dramatic panoramic view of the Gamalama ridge overlooking the city of Ternate, toward the islands of Tidore and Halmahera.
