A panoramic drive takes you along the coastline of Geographe Bay and inland to an area just outside the town of Yallingup. A beautiful secret lies beneath the limestone ridge here. It is the Ngilgi Cave. First opened to the public in 1900, the cave's name honors the Aboriginal legend describing the battle between a good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil spirit (Wolgine). Today, Ngilgi Cave is one of Geographe Bay's star attractions. You will explore its hidden treasures, including stunning stalactite, stalagmite and helictite formations. Uncover Ngilgi's fascinating history as you visit an interpretive area of the cave.
On the return trip to Busselton, you'll visit the base of the famed Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, which marks the northern tip of Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. Guarding Geographe Bay at 403 feet above sea level, it was activated in 1904 and is a 66-foot-tall cylindrical limestone tower built of limestone quarried from nearby Bunker Bay. Take in the sweeping views over Geographe Bay and the Indian Ocean.
End your adventure enlightened and charmed by this unforgettable experience.
