Leave Streymoy Island via Kaldbakfjord and the Kollafjørdur Valley. Pass through the new underwater tunnel and, five minutes later, you'll arrive on Vágar Island. You will appreciate Vágar's ever-changing scenery and will have time explore its villages. Your guide will tell you about the island, its history and about life here today. Drive through the village of Sandavágur and visit the local Church. Drive through the village of Midvagur and also pass the largest lake in the Faroe Islands before reaching Bour.
In Bour, you'll stretch your legs in this little village with both old and new houses with green sod roofs and a charming old tar-blackened church. At a local warehouse venue (or similar) enjoy a refreshment stop of tea or coffee and a delightful piece of homemade cake. From there, take in the spectacular view of Tindholmur and Mykines Islands beyond.
You'll leave Bour via the tunnel to Gasadalur, Vagar's westernmost village for a short stop. Continue with a photo stop at Mulafossur Waterfall. Finally, return to Tórshavn via the mountain road to capture the extraordinary panoramic views out over the fjords and the capital.
Please note: The tour is largely a panoramic drive with some photo stops and walks to points of interest. There is a moderate amount of steps and slopes. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and waterproof layers.
